Visa Extension. How can I change my visa for a longer stay?

Hi! I am from the Philippines and was issued a Chinese L type last September 18 and will expire on December 18, 2017. The duration of my stay in China is only for 7 days. My intended fly date is on October 13, 2017. Now, I decided to stay longer since a Chinese friend of mine offered me a free accommodation and plane ticket.

Will be grateful to hear a response from you.

Cherry, if your current L type is sill valid, you can extend it 7 days before it expires within China. You may need to provide your passport, the completed application form, a recently-taken bareheaded color photo, registration form of temporary residence, accommodation arrangement and the return ticket, and the submit the application to the local PSB.

Is it okay even I am a Filipino? I was also informed that I can only extend if I have relatives in China.

Personally I think it will be okay for Filipino passport holders, and you don't have to have relatives in China to extend the tourist L type. If you are still worried, you can inquire that from the Chinese PSB before you do that.
