Longer trip in China - over 30 days

Hello.

I would like to do a long trip exploring China for tourism, that would likely exceed 30 days.
What sort of visa should I apply for and how long will it be good for?

I would like to visit mainland, Hong Kong, Macau too.

I'm an Australian passport holder.

Thanks.

HK and Macau have their own immigration departments so you can actually go to HK or Macau then reenter Mainland China to activate another 30-day visa free period. The duration of each entry of a tourist visa normally is not as long as months. So it's advised to get more visa free days by reentering.
