About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US - Singapore - Cruise - Shanghai - US

I am a US passport holder, going to Singapore for 3 days and then on a cruise to Asia ending in Shanghai. I want to spend 3 days in Shanghai before flying back to the US. Am I eligible for the 144-hour free transit?
