Do We Need a Transit Visa flying from the USA to Beijing to Mongolia ?

Hello!
My husband and I are flying from the USA to Mongolia. We will be flying to Beijing before our destination in Mongolia. The layover in Beijing is 6 hours. We won't need a transit G, right? Reading about Chinese entry permits on a different website was making me nervous!
