About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Problems expected at check in from departing country

I'm from the Netherlands and have following travel plans:
- Flying form Amsterdam to Guangzhou on October 27, arriving in Guangzhou (CAN) airport on October 28th at 06:50 in the morning.
- Flying from Guangzhou to Taipei on October 31 at 17:30.
This is within the 72 hours + the "free" hours from the first day. So in my opinion this should be fine.

But did anyone experience problems at the check in. (in my situation when leaving in Amsterdam) because the people at the check-in tell you that you stay more than the 72 hours?
I asked this question at KLM and, but they only tell me to check the IATA/Timatic rules. Not if I'm allowed to board in Amsterdam or will be denied.

You shouldn't have any problem at all. Amsterdam has dozens of flights to China every week and many passengers use visa-free transit so you're nothing special. I've flown from AMS on China Southern, Xiamen and KLM several times and never experienced any difficulty. If you do meet an inexperienced agent at check-in, just remind them to put Taipei as the destination and China as the transit in Timatic. Keep a print-out of your onward flight confirmation handy, as you will need to show it at check-in and also at the gate when boarding.

Leo, thank you for your answer. I was most afraid that the hours above the 72 were unknown at the KLM checkin-desk. But if you have good experience, than I don't have to be afraid.
