About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Onward ticket - connection

I have a flight Chiang Mai – Beijing – Osaka

I want to request the 72hrs for Beijing... but my flight Beijing-Osaka has one stop in Nanjing (around 2hrs) to change plane. Would the Nanjing connection affect the 72hrs free transit request?

The Nanjing stop will render you ineligible for the 72-hour transit, so you'll need a transit visa.
