About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

What can I do to bring my son here for a visit or longer stay?

My 23 years old son wants to visit me in China. I have temporary residence permit based of work certificate for and in ShenZhen. What can I do to bring him here for a visit or longer stay, other than getting tourist L?

Ardalan, your son can try to apply for an S1 type for that. If it can succeed, he can get a residence permit to stay with you in China for longer time. The required documents and application form are the same as the previous application for single-entry visa.

Thanks my friend.
So he should come to China with a tourist L and then in mainland we apply for his residence permit due to relationship with me. Am I right?

He cannot apply for residence permit on tourist L type. He needs to apply for an S1 type in his home country for that.
