About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit Visa for Canadians

Hello. I was recently told by my travel agent that the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou had been cancelled for Canadians. Is this true? I can't find anything anywhere that confirms this. We were hoping for a 2-day stay there on our way home. We'll be travelling in mid-November. Thanks!

The 72-hour transit is NOT canceled. It's the 24-hour transit rules that's been changed. Based on most recent reports Guangzhou immigration no longer allows persons to clear immigration if their layover time is shorter than 24 hours, however if your layover is greater than 24 hours and you meet all the rules then you'll be fine.
