About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Start time for 72-hour clock in Beijing Airport

Are you sure that the start of the 72-hour clock for transit users arriving at the Beijing Airport is based upon the scheduled arrival time of the flight, as opposed to midnight of the following day which appears to be the case for every other airport in China?

Yes. And it's not the case for every other airport in China. Beijing (PEK), Guilin (KWL), Harbin (HRB), Kunming (KMG) and Shenyang (SHE) all have a maximum transit time of 72 hours.
