About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

New York- Hong Kong - Shanghai - Hong Kong -New York

Hi there,
I'm flying NY to Hkg on Oct 10th , stay one night , then HKG To Shanghai on Oct 12th and return from a Shanghai vi HKG ( change of plane) to NY on Oct 16th. Does this apply for 144 hours free transit rule ? Thank you , Ian

Hi, it doesn't apply for 144 hours free transit rule in Shanghai because Hong Kong - Shanghai - Hong Kong is not a transit at all. You are advised to apply for a visa before your trip!
