What changed about the Silk Road and what impact did it have on Europeans?

The effect had on Europe was trade between the two nations increased. Chinese arts, science and religion became known in Europe. In addition, it brought new materials, inventions, and ideas from China and Eastern Asia to the area of Europe. :)
