Hi, US citizens are eligible for the 144 hr free transit in Shanghai as long as they can meet all required regulations. They need to inform the airlines that they want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai when boarding the flight. After arriving at Shanghai, they can go to the transit counter to apply for the 144 hour free transit.
