About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

5 hour transit in guangzhou

My brother is migrating to the US and he has a 5 hour layover in Guangzhou. Does he need a transit visa? Does he need to go through immigration in Guangzhou? Thank you in advance.

Alyssa, he doesn’t need a transit G type. He qualifies for the 24 hour direct transit. He needs to go through immigration if he needs to collect luggage or leave the airport.
