About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

What should I do if I want to marry my Chinese boyfriend in China?

I have a Chinese boyfriend. He wants to get married in China. But we don't know the process in Philippines and in China.
Is it okay if I will use a tourist L to get married and after the marriage. Van I stay there in China or do I need to go back in Philippines again?
Hope you can help me. Thank you.

Yes, you can use a tourist L type to enter China and marry him. After the marriage, you can try to change the L type to a Q1 type and then you can apply for a temporary residence permit to live in China.

Where should I apply the Q1 type? In Philippines or in China? Do I need to go back to my country to get the temporary residence or I will get it in China already? Thank you for your reply.

You can change the L type to a Q1 type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it is succeed, you can apply for the residence permit at the local PSB then. No need to go back to your country. You can ask the detail procedure at the local PSB after you enter China.

You need to provide passport, tourist L type for China, and a single status certificate from your country.
