About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Doubt about the 144hrs free transit in Shanghai

Hello, I am planning to visit Shanghai and Thailand for the New year.
I was considering to buy two round trip tickets:
1) Italy-Shanghai-Italy
2) Shanghai - Bangkok- Shanghai

So my trip would be italy-shanghai-bangkok-shanghai-italy (but on two round trip tickets).

On my way to Bangkok, I would stay 5 days in Shanghai. On my way back, I would stay 2 days there.
Would I be eligible to the 144 hrs free transit? On both ways?

Thank you very much

Andrea, if you will travel like Italy-Shanghai(5 days)-Bangkok-Shanghai(2 days)-Italy, you will be eligible to the 144 hrs free transit in SH in both directions. Nice trip!
