Changing employer in mainland China

Hi, I have started working for a company in Shanghai that is currently changing my Z type into a temporary residence permit. My passport is with the PSB and I have had my first interview. However I am wanting to change my job and don't know what will happen to my Z type? If I leave the company and they cancel my work Z during the transition time, what will happen to my Z type?

After you find a new job, you need to start over the previous process once again. You need to cancel your current work permit and then your new employer will get you a new work permit. Afterwards, you need to apply for a new work Z type for the new job.

Thankyou for your help! What about the residence permit? Will that also be cancelled?

You can contact with your previous company to ask if they will cancel your residence permit. If not, you need to do that at the local PSB on your own.

Thankyou again for your help. My situation may have changed again, I will receive my entry permit back from my second PSB interview before I change employer. How do I go about changing over my entry permit to my new employer? How easily is this done?

Hi, you are advised to apply for a new work Z type in your home country for that.
