About:China Visa

Do i need to have a visa if i travel to Mainland China for a half day tour

I will be coming from HK and would attend a birthday party and be back to HK right after. I will be accompanied by a Hongkong national friend

Yes, Marisa, you need to apply for a visa for that as you cannot enjoy free transit in mainland China.

Thank you for your quick response. So, from Hong Kong, where should I apply for it and how long will it be processed if I applied on the same day of my departure? By the way, I don't intend to stay there the whole day. I will be back to HK for my flight back to the Phils on the same day. Thank you.

Hi, if you make the application from the office of the commissioner of the ministry of foreign affairs of PRC in HK SAR, and choose the one-day express service, it takes 1 working day for the processing. But as you don't intend to stay there the whole day, you are advised to make the application from your home country beforehand.
