L-type change to Z-type in China

Hello again! My friend/employer wants me to apply for L-type here in my country first, then change my L-type into Z-type when I'm already in China. The question is... Is it possible to change my L-type into Z-type when I'm already in China without going back in my country?

Telle, it is possible to change the L-type into Z-type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within mainland China. If it can be done, there is no need to go back to your home country for that. Just give it a try!
