About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vancouver Canada [YVR] -> Sanghai [PVG] -> New Delhi, India [DEL] with 12hr layover in PVG.

Can I get free transit for this trip? Can I go outside the airport and explore the city?

Yes, you can enjoy the 24 hours direct transit in Shanghai. You need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport, then you can leave there to explore the city.
