Is taking High Speed Rail on Chinese New Year day or the next day a bad idea? (Beijing to Zhengzhou)

I'm planning to travel to china to see family members, but I want to avoid the ChunYun rush on the trains. So from my conversations with some people they said the trains should be less crowded on the day of new year, since normally people are spending time at home.

Their suggestions are correct. Most people would have already arrived at home by the new year's day. So you could choose that time to take bullet train in China.
