Canadian Passport : 144-hour Free Transit in Shanghai

I shall be flying Air Canada direct from YVR - PVG and then from HKG - YVR. I will buy a separate one-way ticket on Cathay Pacific to fly from PVG - HKG. Do I qualify for the 144-hour free transit in SH? Much thanks for your advice.
