Applying for multiple entry

I will be travelling to China three times from Australia in the next 8 months on a tourist L type. I've heard that it's really difficult to get the 12 month multiple entry one, as it's at the discretion of the officer. How can I ensure that I get this option? Thanks.

Daniel, usually, the times of entry depends on your actual need. The consular officers will give you proper times based on your application.
