From Z to L to X2

Hello!

I'm working in Shanghai and I decided to quit my job and move to Beijing to be a student in a private school.
I currently have the Z type, that will be closed giving me a short (L) type for less than a month period.
I wonder if I can change my visa directly in Beijing from the L I'll have after cancelling the Z to the X2 kind.
