About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am flying in to Shanghai and spending less than 144 hours before going on a 5-day cruise to Japan

I then return to Shanghai for less than 144 hours before flying on to a different country. Can I get two different 144 hour transit visas on arrival either side of the cruise?

Pete, yes, you can travel like that and enjoy the 144 hour free transit twice twice if you travel like UK-Shanghai (144 hours)-Japan – Shanghai (144 hours)- a third country or region.
