how to get to huanglong from chengdu

We have 2 days free in Chengdu, would like to go to Huanglong for one of these two days. Flying out of chengdu airport 9:50 am on the third day.  Should we stay in a hotel near the airport CTU?

There is no direct bus from Chengdu to Huanglong. You can take bus at Xinnanmen Bus Station to Songpan or Chuanzhu Temple first, then transfer another bus to Huanglong. The whole trip takes around 6 hours. If you take flight, you may fly to Jiuzhaigou first (around an hour). Upon arrival at Jiuhuang Airport, you can charter a car to the scenic area and the ride takes around an hour for one way. Due to your tight schedule, I would suggest you consider visiting Leshan instead. Airport CTU is about one hour's ride from downtown area. I suggest you stay in a downtown hotel for the convenience of visiting.
