14hr in KMG I need transit visa

Hello I am traveling to Nepal from sfo but I have 14hr layover at KMG and also I plan to stay at the hotel outside of airport do I need visa or 72hr free transit is enough?

Well, the 24-hour visa free policy is enough for you. You may apply for a stay permit when you need to go out the airport to your hotel.
