About:China Transit Visa

Indonesia citizens transit in Shanghai

Hi,
I'm Indonesian passport holder travel to NY and my flight has long layover in Shanghai. Am I eligible for 24hrs free transit visa? My plan is to see the bund and climb the oriental pearl tower during the layover. Is it possible to do?

Hi, if your total layover time in Shanghai is no more than 24 hours, you are eligible for 24 hr free transit in there. You need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport, then you can leave there to explore the city.
