If we were to take train from Kunming to Lijiang, where can we buy the train ticket?

is it advisable to book the ticket in advance? If yes, where should we go to to purchase the said ticket?

Since it is the peak season for travelling in Yunnan, you are advised to book the train tickets in advance. You can buy the ticket on the website of TravelChinaGuide, and they can send the ticket to your hotel in Kunming. Besides, you can also collect the ticket at the ticket office of the railway station.
