About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I will be flying DFW - YVR - TPE (Arrive in Taipei)

then a few hours later, fly out of Taipei to Shanghai... Is this possible for a free 72 hour visa?

John, if you will go to a third country or region rather than Taiwan, you can use the free transit in Shanghai.
