Hi, first, make an online appointment for the application.
Prepare your passport and its copy, a completed application form, and 2 passport-style photos, HK ID card, residence permit in the US or valid visa and its copy, as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary, and then submit the application to the embassy consulate where you resides.
You need to pay USD67 to HKSAR government for 32-page passport and USD15 to the embassy of China as communication fee. Usually, it takes about two months to process the application.
