international transfer at urumqi

arriving in the airport on a domestic flight around 3pm and have an international departure to bishkek kyrgyzstan just after midnight . will i be able to collect my baggage and transfer terminals without going through immigration? if not can i get a transit visa at the airport?

Well, I am wondering which airline you are using. At least I know Southern Airline will print the boaring passes for all journeys for their passengers and there is no need to collect luggage at the airport. If with other airlines, you may have to go through the immigration. Also a transit visa is needed for your case and there is no way to get at the airport. You'd better apply for a transit visa in advance.
