About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, I am an American citizen who is currently in South Korea with my wife (Korean citizen).

We would like to travel to Shanghai for only 4 days. We have tickets to travel to Taiwan after the Shanghai trip. May we just travel and enter safely with our passports? I read that I need to go to a police station to register for something.
Thank you!
Jon

Hi, you can enjoy free transit in Shanghai for 6 days, and you don't need to apply for a visa for the travel. You are advised to ask for the hotel staff to see if you need to go to a police station to register on your own. Usually, the hotel will do that for you.
