hong kong airport express group ticket for two people

My husband and I are arriving in Hk 6 July, leaving HK 10 July and will be staying in Park Hotel. We are hoping to do city sight seeing and go to Lantau Island during our stay. If we buy the AE Group Ticket for 2 to go to hotel, can that be (topped up) used as our Octopus card after 3 days when it expires ,  or do we have to buy a separate Octopus card for travelling around the city, peak tram etc.etc. and come back to airport on the 10th July.

1. Hi, Nimmi. I am afraid that the AE Group Ticket cannot be topped up after you using up the three days unlimited metro rides.2. For the rest days, you can purchase the Single Journey Tickets if you will not take the metro frequent. 3. Otherwise, you can also buy the Adult Tourist Day Pass which includes one day’s unlimited travel on the MTR and Light Rail (except Airport Express, MTR Bus, East Rail Line First Class and travel to/from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations). This pass costs HK$65/adult.

Many thanks for the reply Kim. Today is our second day in HK. On arrival, we bought the AE single journey for two, $150. Train took us to Kowloon, and from there it is a free ride on the AE Shuttle Bus to the hotel. The girl at the AE counter advised us to buy the single journey ticket, may be because we arrived late in the day. Then we bought the Octopus Card as well, which we top up and use everywhere now. Octopus card is very convenient if you have a variety of travel modes to experience such as ferry, train, bus, tram etc.
