Transiting China with a domestic flight

I am on an Australian passport. I will be arriving to Changsha connecting onto a domestic flight to Beijing and then connecting to a flight to USA. Is this ok to get a 24 hour transit permit on arrival?

Steve, if your total layover time in mainland China is less than 24 hours and the last country you fly from is not USA, you can use the 24 hour direct transit then.
