About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

Hi I'm an American and my husband is Chinese.

we want to apply for the travel document for our newborn in November. However, my husband will not be here when we will apply. Can we prepare the approval letter now and get it notarized in the US and use it later? What should be the content of the letter?

Hi, usually the notarized document is valid for 6 months, so you can make the application as long as the approval letter is valid. You can call the Chinese embassy to inquire about the content of the letter.TEL: (202) 337-1956
