flight from brussels to chengdu via beijing capital airport - 2 hour layover enough?

My wife is flying with 3 year old child on Hainan to PEK T2. She has 2 hours layover to her next Hainan flight to Chengdu departing from terminal 1. Our child walks slow and she is concerned she might miss her onward flight. Does she need to get through customs with luggage or will it be automatically transferred on onward flight?

Generally speaking, 2 hours is enough to make such transfer. Don’t worry, there is a free shuttle bus at Gate 7 on 1st floor in T2 and it can take your wife and son to Terminal 1 quickly. As for the baggage, you may consult the airline company to make sure whether your wife can enjoy the Baggage Check-Through Service. If yes, then she doesn’t need to reclaim the baggage and it will be sent to the last destination. If not, she may need to reclaim it.
