Hi, I am plannig to visit the Forbidden City in early September this year.

Did I understand correctly, that during that time it will not be possible to buy tickets on site, but you need to buy them in advance online?

Well, the ticket is limited every day on site, so that some visitors probably cannot get one there. Based on this situation, you are advised to reserved the ticket in advance online.
