About:China Visa Application in USA

I have been invited by a university in Beijing to conduct a couple of seminars for students.

The duration is 4-5 days. I have US passport. I plan to fly from US and travel to Australia after Beijing seminar. On my return journey, I will be in transit in Beijing. What is needed by me for visa?

When you return, if you stop there for not more than 72 hours, you can use the 72 hour free transit. In this case, you can just apply for an F type for the 4/5-day seminars.
