About:China Tourist Visa

I am going as a student for a semester but already have a Category L visa.

I already have a 10 year Category L type with 60 days duration of stay. Do I need a student X type instead? I know I have to leave after 60 days but could visit someone in Hong Kong for a day and fly back. Will that work or do I need to apply for a student X type?

Hi, if it's a regular school, you need to apply for a student X type for that. Otherwise, you can use your 10-year tourist L type for that. You can call the school's admissions office to consult this.
