HI, I need urgent Advice

Hi there, I Dr. Farrukh from Pakistan.
I have been stayed in China on X-type for Ph.D. studies, and graduated in December, 2016, and remaining visa (20 Jule, 2017) has been curtailed due to completion of Ph.D. study.
Now, I want to travel to visit my University and my Professor sent me an invitation letter with the reason for invitation, "To discuss and writing up a new research funding project and submission to China National Natural Science Foundation",
She sent me invitation letter, which type of Visa should I need to apply? whether its F or L type?
Furthermore, the letter mentioned my stay about 30 days.
In addition, if the need arise, it could be extended for further few weeks or not?

Hi, you are advised to ask your professor to provide you an invitation letter from a duly authorized unit, then you can apply for an F type for that. Usually, the extended period won’t exceed the duration of stay of your original F type.

Hi, Thanks for your prompt answer, Initially the letter was written 15 June to 14 July, But the post is delayed, so now I panned to travel on around 20-21, so I may ask her to Issue me a new letter and send me a scanned letter. Thanks very Much.

Usually, an invitation letter is valid for 3 months, so I think you can still use that letter to make the application.

hi,
thanks dear, Today, I went to the embassy, they said, we need the letter containing a barcode on it,
Hence I requested to my professor to prepare a new one have Barcode, as well.
