About:China Visa Exemption

Hong kong to Shanghai to seattle

I have a flight from hk to shanghai and i have to take my luggage and checkin again for my seattle flight. I will only spend 3 hours at shanghai pudong airport. I am a Turkish citizen. Do i need a visa or what do i need to do?

Furkan, you don't need a visa because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. If you want to leave the airport during the 3 hours, you may be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport.
