About:Tiananmen Square

Is it possible to do the following in less than 24 hours in Beijing?

Arriving in Capital Airport at 3:15 p.m. on a Wednesday. Is it possible to see the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square that afternoon or will the attractions be closed by the time we clear immigration and make our way into the city? Would also like to visit the Great Wall. Will assume that we could do all three in one day and then fly out from PEK to Shanghai for a cruise. Do you recommend staying at a hotel near the airport or opt for one closer to TS and FC? Thank you, Linda.

Hi, I'm afraid it's difficult for you to visit Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Great Wall within 24 hours. But it's possible for you to go to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
You can go the Tiananmen Square and then pay a visit to its surroundings for the first afternoon. The next day, you can get up early to enjoy the flag-raising ceremony at the square, then you can go to the Forbidden City.
You are advised to stay at a hotel near the Wangfujing for the convenient transportation. For instance, Nanjing Great Hotel. It will cost you about CNY 800/night.
