About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will Holland America allow me to do this?

Arriving in Shanghai, staying 36 hours, touring only in and around Shanghai. Holland America should allow me to embark in Yokohama with the 144-hour visa-free permit. How do I obtain the arrival/departure card ahead of time in order to apply?

Janet, if you travel like USA-Shanghai(144 hours)-Yokohama, you are allowed to do that because you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
You should inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Shanghai before you board the plane in the USA. After arriving at Shanghai airport, you can go to the transit counter to apply for the free transit.

The arrival card is usually distributed on the ship but can also be handed out by immigration. You'll need a hotel address.
