About:China Visa

Arriving on cruise ship, in port in Shanghai 36 hours, taking shore excursions. Americans

We arrive in Shanghai April 16, 2018 8 a.m. and depart 6 p.m. NEXT day (36 hours). Will be taking shore excursion(s) within SHanghai area. We are American citizens. What are our visa options, if any?

Janet, if you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Shanghai, no visa will be needed for that because you can enjoy 144 hour free transit. Otherwise, you need to apply for a tourist L type for that.
