About:China Tourist Visa

Hello! I was issued a Visa when I visited 6 years ago as a student.

I believe it was a visitor L type not a student X type (how can I can confirm that?). I will be flying into China for 1 week then flying to Japan and back to the US. Do I need to get a new Visa? Have the requirements changed?

Thank you!

Hi, you can check the category of the visa to see if it's an L type.
You need to apply a new tourist L type for that.
You need to provide a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, your passport and its photocopy, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation.
