Using a 24hr direct transit in Beijing while still having a single entry Chinese visa

I plan to go to Beijing from Australia, then fly to Hong Kong on same day. I will d
Get a single entry Chinese visa before I arrive in China. But will it be possible to get a 24 hr direct transit on arrival? As I can use the single entry visa when I come back from Hong Kong and stay in Beijing or few days before I fly back to Australia.
Also how easy is it to get a Shenzhen visa from Hong Kong? I have Australian passport. I am trying to avoid getting a multiple visa as it's almost $200 each n there's 5 of us.
Thanks in advance in helping.

MJ, yes, you can get the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing if you travel like that, but you need to tell the consular officers that you won’t use the visa this time. In this case, you can save this visa when you return.
It is easy for Australian passport holders to gte 5-day VOA in Shenzhen, but you cannot get VOA there when there is a visa on your passport.
