From Forbidden City, you can walk south around one kilometer to get to Tiananmen East Station. Take metro line 1 to Xidan Station and transfer to metro line 4 to Beigongmen Station, Exit A. After arriving, walk northwest along Yiheyuan Road around 400 meters to find the North Gate of Summer Palace.1
