About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I do a trip to the Forbidden city and Great Wall of China from Beijing whilst on a 72hr visa?

Hi I'm flying into Beijing from the UK on route to Tokyo. I am staying in Beijing for less than 72hrs so I presume I can use a 72hr free transit, but while I am in Beijing I would like to do a day trip to the Forbidden City and to the Great Wall of China. Is it possible to do these trips on a 72hr free transit?

Hi, Zoe, you can do that if you are eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing.

Thanks for answering so quickly. That's very helpful. I fly from UK to Tokyo via Beijing and am stopping in Beijing for under 72hrs so I believe I should be able to use the 72hr free transit as per the helpful guidelines above. Many thanks, Zoe
