About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would this travel qualify for the 72/144 hour transit?

I am flying from Tokyo to Shanghai. Staying in Shanghai two days, then flying back to Tokyo, then to Vancouver.

Alain, no, it doesn’t qualify for that because Tokyo-Shanghai-Tokyo is not a transit at all.
