About:Chinese Consulate in Zurich

I am Swiss citizen and will have to re-check-in my baggages at March 28 2018

in Shanghai Pudong airport (coming from Auckland and travelling to Tokyo). On the way back at April 3 2018 I am arriving at 00.35h in the morning and like to go to the Ramada Airport Hotel to sleep before I take the flight back to Zurich.
Question: which visa do I need and which additional documents I have to provide?

Gregor, if you travel like Auckland-Shanghai(144 hours)-Tokyo-Shanghai(144 hours)-Zurich, you don't need to apply for a visa for that because you are eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai in both directions.
After arriving at Shanghai airport, bring your passport and the return or onward tickets to go to the transit counter to apply for the 144 hour free transit, and then you can leave the airport to the hotel to get sleep.
